Century Swift Heli

After flying the "mini class" T-Rex 450 for a while, I decided I wanted something larger. After a lot of research, I decided to build a Century Swift. The Swift is the same size as a "30" nitro heli, but is electric powered!

I fitted my Swift with a Neu 1910/1.5Y motor and 9T pinion gear. This is controlled by a Castle Creations Phoenix HV-45 speed controller, and radio power is provided by a CSRC XBEC. To power the whole thing, I'm using a 10S1P battery consisting of A123 M1 cells. These cells are rather new technology, and are great! They are safer than Lipo, offer a much longer cycle life, and can be charged at much faster rates. They are cheaper too, being "rescued" from a Dewalt power tool pack! As my flying skills progress, this motor/power system can handle much more than I'm asking of it with the current gear ratio.

The Swift is smooth and stable, and flies great! Hovering is so easy, and the wind simply doesn't affect it!
